Carolina Panthers Coach Ron Rivera defended the new player, Eric Reid’s decision to continue protesting by kneeling during the national anthem. Reid stated that “I believe in the First Amendment and that’s all he did. He exercised his First Amendment.”

The New York Times asked a federal judge on Friday to disclose the search warrants and supporting materials justifying the raid on the properties of President Donald Trump’s personal attorney Michael Cohen. In a letter from N.Y. Times to Judge Pauley the Times acknowledged that “The Second Circuit has not decided whether a First Amendment right of access applies to search warrant materials.” In the letter, the Times states“[w]e make this request pursuant to the public’s right of access to judicial records, grounded in both the federal common law and the First Amendment.” The Cohen sentencing is set for December 12, 2018.
