Thank you for your interest in publishing with the North Carolina Banking Institute. The NCBI publishes one Volume per year. Each Volume is published in the Spring of each year in conjunction with the Annual Banking Institute CLE Program held in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Annual Banking Institute CLE Program is sponsored by the Center for Banking and Finance at the University of North Carolina School of Law.
It is the goal of the NCBI to publish the most current and practical topics related to the banking industry. Due to the nature of our publication schedule, only topics that will be ripe at the time of publication will be considered.
Review Process
The NCBI will consider ALL submissions for their merit for publication. Submissions for an upcoming Volume must be received by the NCBI no later than July 1st of the year prior to publication. Submissions will not be considered after this date. Submissions are carefully considered by at least two editors and a faculty member. Submissions are then put to a vote before the Editorial Board. The Editorial Board will notify authors of its publication decision by email. Reasons for our publication decision will not be given.
Submission Format
The NCBI welcomes articles, notes, and comments for consideration of publication. The NCBI strongly encourages submissions in Microsoft Word format. Submissions must not exceed 45 double spaced pages, including footnotes, which must also be double spaced. An abstract of approximately 250 words must also be included. All submissions must conform to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (21st Edition).
How To Submit
Submissions will be accepted either by U.S. Mail or email. In either case, please place your Name, Affiliation, Biographical Information, and any Acknowledgments on a separate cover page. The title of the submission should begin the first page.
- U.S. Mail Submissions: Submissions must include two hard copies and a CD of the piece. The CD must be labeled with the author’s name and the filename of the document. Materials submitted will not be returned. Please mail materials to:
