Alibaba litigation.\u00a0Should the plaintiffs prevail, e-commerce platforms will be held\u00a0accountable to cooperate with brand owners by removing\u00a0infringing listings in a timely fashion and sanctioning users who\u00a0sell counterfeits in an effective manner, resulting in a more brand-protective environment than that under the current Tiffany v. eBay\u00a0standard. Such a result will compel e-commerce platforms to share\u00a0the burden of policing counterfeiters with trademark owners,\u00a0working together to combat trademark infringement.
